Manchester entered a team in the recently formed 4NCL Women’s League. The first match was played in Kenilworth. Final positions as shown. Manchester came joint third but placed fourth on tie break. Final results http://www.4nclresults.co.uk/2019-20/media/wncl/we1/prog-div1.html Pictures of the team at the prize giving, unfortunately after Crystal and Allanah had left (Sorry). Photo Credit @Lara Barnes and Julian Clissold.

Individual scores:

Zhu, Yaoyao (Three C’s) 2.5/4

Jayawarna, Tarini (Heywood) 2/4

Jayawarna Thisumi (Heywood) 2/4

Topping, Rachel (Bolton) 2/3

Allanah Ashton (Three C’s) 1/1

Darcy Casserley (Worsley) 0/1

Darcy, Alannah and Rachel also played in the reserves tournament for which results are not available but all three scored well.

We should note that but for some late withdrawals, Manchester would have fielded two teams and we are clear that we shall continue to enter teams in this event. But we are looking for more female adults/girls* to be in the team.

Big thank you’ s to Nilanga Jayawarna and Paul Casserly who looked after the team, and to Crystal and Adam Ashton who provided advice to players.

*For interested people, the grade range for the event was from around 80 up to 180.

Manchester League Fixtures 2019-20 version 3.2

Posted by ian on September 30, 2019 at 8:35 AM Comments comments (0)

Manchester League Fixtures 2019-20 version 3.2 (thanks again to Mick Norris). can be found on the download page of the website. https://www.manchesterchess.com/downloads

Some Wahltuch Trophy fixtures have been added.

Heywood CC will not after all have two teams in C division. In consequence,

1. Heywood 4’s fixtures have been expunged from C Division.

2. Heywood 5 has been renamed as Heywood 4

3. Heywood 6 has been renamed as Heywood 5

The MCF Results website will be updated accordingly as soon as possible.

It is to be hoped that there will be no further substantial changes.

Any individual fixture changes made subsequently will be notified by email to the teams concerned and via the Results website.

Please remember that if you want to change a fixture, you should submit a request and justification to the Fixtures Secretary, rather than try to make a private arrangement.
